Spring Focaccia with Hemp Seeds
As soon as the first warm rays of sunshine drive away the winter chill, spring fever also arrives in the kitchen. How about this simple yet impressive spring focaccia with hemp seeds, for example?Such a focaccia is easy to prepare and, with a bit of creative skill, can really make an impression. Many ingredients that are currently in season in spring can turn a simple focaccia into a true work of art. How about herb flowers, onion rosettes, or your own creation, such as with green asparagus or wild garlic? Let your imagination run wild and enjoy the start of spring! INGREDIENTS
1 pkg dry yeast (or 20 g fresh yeast)
250g spelt flour
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp dried rosemary
150ml lukewarm water
4 tbsp HANAFSAN organic hemp seed oil
1 tbsp HANAFSAN organic hemp seeds
Depending on the season and availability, fresh herbs, wild garlic, onions, spring onions, asparagus, or also tomatoes, olives, or bell peppers and much more are suitable for decorating.
PREPARATION
- For the dough, knead yeast, flour, salt, rosemary, and water with a dough hook until smooth and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
- In the meantime, prepare the desired toppings: wash and pluck herbs, slice onions or other vegetables not too thinly, clean asparagus, etc.
- Once the dough has doubled in volume, place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and roll it out to 2-3 cm thick.
- Use the handle of a wooden spoon to press small indentations into the dough and let the focaccia rise for another 10 minutes.
- Brush focaccia with organic hemp seed oil, sprinkle with organic hemp seeds, and decorate as desired.
- Bake at 200°C (convection) for about 20 minutes and serve best while warm.
