The many applications of cannabis are now widely known. However, behind the trend lies a real science. Cannabis can be particularly useful in various areas of everyday life and can greatly enrich our lives. In addition to numerous medical applications, cannabis is also extremely popular as a food and delicacy. It is nutritious, high in protein, rich in fiber, vitamins, and amino acids. And since we are talking about enjoyment: why not pack cannabis into chocolate?
We thought the same and quickly sought a partner who meets our high quality standards and wants to start this experiment with us. Fenkart Chocolate produces its chocolate from bean to bar itself. Moving away from industrially produced mass goods, towards high-quality chocolate enjoyment produced in small quantities. This attitude, and especially the Fairtrade idea, aligns with our vision of a sustainable and just future.
Fenkart Chocolate: Handmade in Austria
The hemp seeds that not only give the chocolate a pleasant crunch but also provide a unique taste experience seem to us to be the perfect combination of sweet chocolate and slightly nutty, bitter hemp. We deliver a few packets of our organic hemp seeds to the award-winning chocolatier Gunther Fenkart and let the master try it himself. After a few weeks, the time has come and the production of our first hemp chocolate begins. Of course, we want to be there!
After a short wait in the entrance area, we are taken to the back and embark on an impressive journey of enjoyment of the highest class – into the in-house production. Into the cave of inspiration, creativity, and creation, so to speak. We almost feel like Alice in Wonderland, suddenly finding ourselves in a world where imagination knows no bounds. The scent of fresh, warm chocolate fills our noses, the quiet hum of machines, and the busy steps of employees in the background give us the feeling of being part of something wonderful.

Variety: Milk and Dark Hemp Chocolate
To be honest, we had imagined the chocolate production a bit differently. We thought of a large room with huge machines that handle the process from cocoa beans to packaging the finished chocolate. We envisioned hairnets, gloves, and chemistry. But not so at Fenkart Chocolate. Aside from hairnets and gloves, our conception hardly matched reality. Fenkart Chocolate enjoyment focuses on handcrafted chocolate production. An employee pours liquid chocolate from a kind of mixing machine into molds. She also uses a scraper to ensure that none of the precious chocolate is wasted. The molds are passed on to the next employee, who smooths the chocolate by hand. Here, inspiration, creativity, and above all pure chocolate enjoyment abound.
One employee approaches us, greets us, and prepares her workstation for the production of "our" chocolate. The molds are filled one by one. First, they are warmed up a bit, then they go under the pouring machine, where they are filled. In fine, thin streams, the brown gold flows from the machine into the molds. In the next step, the bars are freshly topped. In our case, with hemp seeds, dried strawberries, and crushed pistachios. The chocolate already looks tempting enough to bite into, and we can hardly wait. But now the chocolate must be cooled and packaged. After a few days of impatient waiting, it's ready: our first, own HANAFSAN Chocolate. And two varieties at that, milk hemp chocolate and dark hemp chocolate. The result looks fantastic, and we are excited to try it. As expected, we are not disappointed: our hemp chocolate definitely delivers on its promise: the highest quality, pure chocolate enjoyment for true connoisseurs!
