From selecting the right seed to proper plant care and successful harvesting, cannabis cultivation is a science in itself and very labor-intensive. But it doesn't have to be. However, there are a few critical points on the way to a successful harvest that need to be considered. The choice of the right seed is the first step on the journey of cannabis cultivation. There is a wide variety of cannabis strains or rather cannabis genetics, each with its own unique characteristics regarding cultivation and the final product. Many choose strains with a high yield. How the final product, the buds, smell and taste in the end is a purely personal decision and is ensured by the corresponding selected genetics. Once the right seed is selected, cultivation begins. On the way to harvest, the following core stages must be mastered:

• Germination: To ensure a good start towards a successful harvest, the seed is placed in a moist medium during this phase to promote root formation.
• Seedling cultivation: After the seed has received a boost through germination, it is planted in coco substrate or soil, and the seedling should appear after about two to three days. In the end, it is important during seedling cultivation that the seed and then the seedling receive the right amount of moisture, light, water, and nutrients.
• Moving outdoors: The right time to move the young plant outdoors depends crucially on the outside temperatures. A rule of thumb often used in gardening is: not before the Ice Saints. These occur in mid-May and mark the last frost nights of spring.
• The right "pot" and a good substrate: Essential basic conditions from this point on for healthy cannabis growth are a good substrate or good soil and the right planting container. A well-draining, nutrient-rich soil and a spacious container are ideal.
• The growth and flowering phase: For care during these phases, as already mentioned under seedling cultivation, three things are mainly important: sun, water, and nutrients. Cannabis needs a lot of light, regular watering, and the provision of necessary nutrients for strong growth and abundant flowering. Advanced growers can even optimize growth by properly pruning the plant.
• The harvest: Here, it is crucial to recognize the right time to harvest. This information is provided by the so-called trichomes (resin glands on the buds) and pistils (stigmas; also called glandular hairs). When the trichomes are swollen and milky white, harvesting can begin. At this stage, the white glandular hairs also change color to orange-brown up to violet.
