Homemade hemp ice cream - simple recipe
Especially in the warmer seasons, almost no one can resist a scoop of ice cream. With proper social distancing, customers line up in front of the ice cream parlors. In addition to classics like vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, the new ice cream flavor 'hemp' immediately catches the eye and is also convincing in terms of taste.

We’ll show you how to easily and effortlessly make a fantastic creamy hemp ice cream at home. Thanks to hemp’s slightly nutty natural flavor, there's the opportunity to create many new combinations. Perfect for beginners are the flavors Hemp-Coconut, Hemp-Vanilla, and Hemp-Chocolate. The amount of sugar used in the recipe results in a mild to moderately strong “sweetness” and can be adjusted accordingly. With a few roasted hemp seeds “on top” or some coconut flakes mixed into the hemp ice cream, your homemade treat is guaranteed to be a party hit.
Ingredients
- 500mL milk (3.5% fat)
- 500mL cream (25% fat)
- 2 eggs
- 160g sugar
- 50g HANAFSAN organic hemp protein coconut (alternatively organic hemp protein chocolate, organic hemp protein vanilla)
Preparation
Beat eggs and sugar until frothy. Mix milk and cream with the HANAFSAN organic hemp protein powder and heat while stirring constantly. Slowly stir the warm liquid into the egg/sugar mixture. Then bring everything briefly to a boil – always stir well! Finally, let everything cool down well, stir again thoroughly, and pour into the prepared ice cream machine. Depending on the machine, the hemp ice cream is ready in 30–60 minutes.
